About this School Project (Starry Night in a Pumpkin Patch)
3rd grade artists learned about the life and art of Vincent Van Gogh. Inspired by his painting “A Starry Night”, we learned how to create movement in art through brushstrokes and line. Next, artists experimented with batik style resist and creating value (shading) on their pumpkins. They tied it all together through collage and some even added extra details with oil pastel.
