About this School Project (9-12 Self: Artist-inspired self-portraits)
Students explored "self" with a colorful self-portrait after choosing one of two artists: Romero Britto and Kristen Woolery, to use as the inspiration for their artwork. They learned through a guided lesson how to draw in the style of the two artists and completed group compare and contrast activities to study the works of the artists. Once they decided upon an inspiration, students used mirrors and reference materials to guide their self-portrait drawings and finishd the work with markers - with nearly 100 different colored markers to choose from
