Artist Statement (what Benaiah110 said about their artwork)
In this project we had to learn about how the " Element of art is shape", Geometric and Organic shapes, Printmaking, Raised relief. Geometric and Organic shapes are the shapes that are used by nature or what people have created. Print making is when, in our case, a stiraphomb (styrofoam) sheet gets carved by a pencils there are raiser spaces, or raised relief. I think the printing is hard because you don't know how much ink to put on. Personality I think that this piece of art is really important to me because of my religion Christianity in witch a cross is the main simble.
About this School Project (Shape Printmaking)
The element of art discussed for this project is shape. Students learned about geometric and organic shapes and how they influence a work of art. We talked about how shape is defined by its positive and negative space and printmaking by coloring the raised positive shapes. An artist that influenced our prints in their radial designs is Alma Woodsey Thomas.
