About this School Project (Joan Miro Abstract Art)
First grade students learned about Spanish Surrealist painter and sculptor, Joan Miro, before beginning to create this project. After viewing many of Miro's colorful pieces of art, students created their own artwork using many of Miro's unique shapes and lines. To create their piece of art, students played a game with dice called 'Roll-A-Miro" where they were given different lines and shapes that were characteristic of Miro's paintings. Students outlined their artwork with black sharpies to show those distinctive black lines Miro loved in his artwork and then painted their pieces with liquid watercolors. I LOVE how individual and creative these are!
