Artist Statement (what Rongxi2 said about their artwork)
Some specific details on this blind contour drawing are all the lines, outlines, and how the shoelaces were tied. I also put the bumpiness of the bottom part of the shoe and not a flat one. I used colored pencils, a normal pencil, and my finger to blend. The techniques I used were hatching, blending cross-hatching, stippling, and contour-hatching. The most challenging part was always trying to use the shading techniques instead of just shading the way I made up. Something that surprised me was how good it actually looked at the end.
About this School Project (Blind Contour Drawing Long)
Students will sharpen their observation skills through blind contour drawing exercises.
They will then take one of their blind contour drawings and turn it into either a water color painting or wire sculpture
