Artist Statement (what Emma61178 said about their artwork)
I made this artwork so I could learn how to use oil pastels by coloring and blending properly.
Mrs. Charmon focused on these four elements of art they are, Line, Color, Value, and Texture.
first, I drew my abstract design on a manila piece of paper with pencil, then With Black Sharpie I outlined my what I did with the pencil . Use four different color scheme to coler the inside section. Using Value scale I blended darkest color of our darkest leather shade of a color to the lightest shade, and I blended them with my fingers. I outlined everything with black pastel and smeared the lines with my finger.
I loved this artwork art work because I never knew that using oil pastels could be this much fun. my favorite part was how all of my colors blended it this piece it looks and mature and not childish. One thing in particular that I don't like about this piece is that the black pastel blended more then I wanted to. Overall I loved this piece.
