About this School Project (Dot Project)
For our first project of the year, we began by reading the book "The Dot" by Peter Reynolds. This story is all about how you can create artwork by just starting with a dot. "Just make a mark and see where it takes you." International Dot Day is September 15th.
We created our dots by using round gelli plates for printmaking. Then, students added details with oil pastels, crayons, and/or colored pencils and cut them out. The dots will be hung in a schoolwide installation for a few weeks, then will be taken down and sent home.
