About this School Project (Architecture in Starry Night)

Students learned about the 2nd most famous painting in the world, Starry Night painted by the artist Vincent Van Gogh. The painting is on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Students learned about Van Gogh's home country, the Netherlands (Holland). To make a unique work of art students were asked to research architecture and design a building to add to their own Starry Night project. Students added colors to the sky and ground using stylistic methods similar to Van Gogh, short choppy marks. This stylistic approach is found in Impressionistic and Post-impressionist paintings.
