About this School Project (Pumpkin Patch - K & 1st)
First, we took a look at some photos of pumpkin patches and observed how pumpkins far off in the distance look at lot smaller. We talked about the "horizon line" which is the line that separates land from sky. Then, we painted our pumpkins by mixing red and yellow together to create orange. Students also chose light or dark blue to paint their sky.
Next class, we took a closer look at the lines/indents on pumpkins. We used oil pastels to add curved lines to our pumpkins to make them look like real pumpkins! We also added curly vines and grass.
