About this School Project (Charles Demuth inspired initials)
The first graders learned about Charles Demuth's Painting "I saw the figure 5 in gold" and it's symbolism to his friends poem "The Great Figure" by William Carlos Williams. The students began by learning how to draw their initials as block letters. A pattern of painted stripes contrasted their painted background. The project was completed by outlining their letters and details with glue and glitter to further create emphasis.
