About this School Project (1st Grade - Shape: "Where the Wild Things Are" Symmetrical Masks)
This was a fun project that was inspired by the book, Where the Wild Things Are, by Maurice Sendak. The 1st graders explored with a black oil pastel to print on the other side of their paper, in order to create a symmetrical monster mask. After the drawing and "printing" of their mask, the students painted in their creation with watercolors. The final process was to outline and frame up their mask on colored construction paper. These were a scary good time! Enjoy!
