Artist Statement (what logan49633 said about their artwork)
In art, we learned about a few Hispanic artists for Hispanic Heritage Month. One of our artists was Luchita Hurtado from Venezuela. we used her style of colorful abstract lines to create this piece.
First, I chose a color scheme that I liked and I divided my paper into 4 different parts. On each part, I created a different concentric shape pattern with the same color scheme. Next, I cut my colorful paper into strips of the same size and I alternated them and glued them down. Lastly, I chose a washi tape that matched my color scheme, and I used it to cover the cut spaces. Our last step was cutting the edges to make it look nice and neat.
I, personally, do not like the abstract line art. After I was finished I wanted to change the colors because I don't like the colors I chose to much, but I do like the patterns that I did with the art. If I could go back and change anything, I would use a different color scheme, and I would cut my lines straighter. Overall, I think I did a good job on my abstract piece.
