About this School Project (Spiders)
First grade students looked at the story, Walter's Web, by Tim Hopgood. We talked about line, shape, and color. Students folded their paper and then painted the sections with different colors. Students then used black ink and glue to make lines for their web and what shape they wanted their web to be. Students folded circles to create their spider's body. They added wiggle eyes and pip cleaners as well. We worked on swishing and rinsing brushes, folding paper, gluing skills and the art elements of line, shape and color.
