About this School Project (What's in your Hand?)
After a brief discussion about how we use LINE in many areas of our lives, students were introduced to the CONTOUR LINE. People draw with contour lines all the time, usually referring to them as "outlines." For this exercise, students practiced drawing their own hand using a CONTINUOUS CONTOUR LINE. For this type of drawing, the challenge is to notice and draw the details without picking up the pencil, using one continuous line. For our final drawing, students chose a small object to hold in the hand that was being drawn.
