About this School Project (1st Shape Robots)
As inspiration, for this project, 1st-grade students looked at robot themed artwork. Then we discussed how robots are used and the kinds of robots that would be useful in their lives. Once students decided on their robot's function they drew a robot using a combination of different shapes. For the background, students mixed their favorite color with white paint to create a tint. They then used this paint to stamp legos in an interesting design on their background paper. To finish their robots, students used black and white chalk to create shadows and highlights and added pops of color with colored pencils to add emphasis to their robot.
