About this School Project (3-C Mariposas)
These beautiful mariposas, “butterflies” in Spanish, were inspired by the colorful artwork of Contemporary Mexican artist Lourdes Villagomez. Villagomez paints animals, objects and
scenes that are infused with the lively color and culture of Mexico. Students created a mariposa using an oil pastel transfer technique that will help to create symmetrical balance for their butterflies. Next, students painted their butterflies with bright vivid colors.
