About this School Project (Clay Jellyfish)
Third-grade artists learned about clay and the beautiful ocean creature, the jellyfish. They created pinch pots which became jellyfish bells (or heads.) The bells were made even more exciting with glaze which was pretty magical to third grade for their first clay project. After creating the bells, students made a plan for their tentacles. We talked about plastic in the ocean and how important it is to recycle things. Most materials for tentacles were items that were repurposed (previous project examples, played with fabric scarves, used pipe cleaners, plastic bags, and even bubble wrap.) These jellyfish are fantastic just like the artists that made them!
