About this School Project (2 - Pumpkins with Patterns, inspired by Yayoi Kusama)
Second grade artists learned about the famous Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama, before creating their own pumpkins with patterns. They learned how to draw pumpkins with different sections before using black permanent markers to add dots like the artist. Then, they explored the use of monoprinting with markers to add color to their pumpkins. Lastly, they chose color construction paper and new patterns to create a background for their pumpkins.
