About this School Project (K03 Acorn Was a Little Wild)
This week, students heard a read-aloud of the story Acorn Was a Little Wild by Jen Arena. They then used various lines to draw texture on an acorn character's cap, and they were asked to choose a facial expression for their acorn that they noticed in the story. They used watercolors to add background color. This project gives them more practice with classroom routines, reinforces their learning around types of lines, challenges them to think of representing emotions in facial features, and offers a chance to use a watercolor resist technique.
