Artist Statement (what Justin29765 said about their artwork)
I now know that an armature is a sculpture made with a filling of paper wrapped in tinfoil then tightly packed neatly with plaster. You first add paper and tinfoil to mould the basic shapes. After you complete the basic shapes you cover it in one very big layer of tinfoil tightly wrapping the basic shapes. When you finish that step you will wrap the object in two layers of plaster. I want to explore sculpturing for my final art.
About this School Project (G7 & G8 Skill Builder 3 Sculpture)
This was only a 1 lesson challenge so that the students could experience what an armature was and how to effectively use plaster. They will now have the choice between collage, sketching and sculpture for their final artwork.
