About this School Project (4th-Cactus Still Life)
We began this project by reviewing and practicing drawing interesting patterns with lines and shapes. Next students drew a flower pot and decorated it with several patterns in black and white. We then drew cacti in the flower pot. Students were encouraged to draw a variety of different cacti that were large and small, overlapping and filled up the space on their paper. They also needed to add a texture to each of their plants. Their drawings were colored using crayons in several different shades of green to add value and shading to their work. We finished this piece off by using liquid water color to paint the background and sprinkling on salt to add texture.
