About this School Project (Collaborative Concentric Circles)
On the very first day of art after going over the rules and routines of the art studio we examined Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky and the theme of circles in his work. We carefully looked at his concentric circles and discussed how he created this very famous study to help discover which colors work well next to each other. Students used tempera sticks to make their own concentric circles and then cut up their designs and rearranged them to form an interesting composition. These will all be used to create a school wide mural of interconnected art.
