About this School Project (Matisse Icarus Collage)
The students learned how Henri Matisse would create collage artworks by cutting colors out of painted papers and gluing them together to create a new artwork. As a class we viewed his Icarus collage and then recreated the artwork by cutting a figure shape out of black paper and our own stars out of yellow paper. The pieces were then glued to a blue background.
