About this School Project (Patriotic Sculptures)
Kindergarten read a story "America the Beautiful" and talked about the different Art in the book! We talked about the meaning of patriotism, "celebrating America" and "Love for your country." We also looked an Artwork by artist Jasper Johns inspired by the American flag and discussed it. For our lesson, we learned how to create a 3D sculpture by manipulating paper in different ways. We used the colors of the flag and to finish it off, we decorated it with stars and other mixed media materials! We made sure to include overlapping to create depth. Great job Kindergarten!
