About this School Project (2- Van Gogh Room Diorama)
Students observe and analyze artwork by Vincent Van Gogh and the impressionist artists. We discuss their revolutionary sloppy, choppy style in which you can see the brushstrokes and how it was criticized in history at first, but then appreciated for it's own unique beauty. All art is beautiful in its own way and we want to encourage all styles of art regardless of others' opinions. Students will recreate their own impressionist style work inspired by a piece of Van Gogh's in which they get to create a 3D diorama of their favorite, most comforting place. It could be their bedroom, any room in their house they spend a lot of time or their backyard if they choose.
