About this School Project (4-C Matisse Inspired Fish Still Life)
Henri Matisse, a famous French artist was called the “King of Color”. He recognized that color played a big part in how we perceive life. Matisse became fascinated with goldfish after a trip to Morocco and decided to include them in his art. He actually made 9 paintings with goldfish. Fourth graders looked and some of his goldfish paintings and discussed the various styles Matisse used in each painting. Next, the students drew and water colored their own fish still life paintings. Enjoy!
