About this School Project (0K Fletcher Fox and the Cherry Blossoms)
Students learned more about the Cherry Blossom Season that is celebrated in Japan, using their 5 senses to imagine what it would be like to experience the blooming of the cherry blossoms. Students read along to the book, Fletcher and the Springtime Blossoms, about a fox that learns about the bloom of cherry blossoms. Students then followed an instructor-lead directed drawing, where they followed step-by-step instructions to complete an outlined drawing of the book's main character, Fletcher the Fox. Afterwards, students independently colored in their drawings, adding details to their backgrounds inspired by the images they saw of the Cherry Blossom Season at the beginning of the lesson.
