About this School Project (Woven Paper Sweaters)
Students learned about the history and culture of the Kente cloth from Ghana. After creating two paper looms, students wove colorful weft strips over and under the vertical warp strips. They added on designs inspired by traditional west African patterns and turned their narrow strip into a turtleneck sweater by adding on their choice of a long-necked animal!
