About this School Project (Lucy Arnold - Scientific Illustrator - Bugs)
We explored the art of Lucy Arnold, Scientific Illustrator. We recognized that the bugs were symmetrical and then used that create our own bugs inspired by Lucy Arnold. Drawing half of our bug with ink, and transferring to the other half. Once the ink outline was complete watercolors were used to create patterns and color within. Once completed with the bugs texture plates were used to create an interesting background to add the bugs to once cut out. Students had the option to focus on one bug or multiple, overlapping to fill the space.
