About this School Project (Blue Dog)
Second graders learned about George Rodrigue and his Blue Dog paintings. We also read the book, "Why is Blue Dog Blue?" written by the artist, himself. Students then used directed-drawing to create their own "blue" dog. Chalk pastels in analogous colors were used to color their dogs. Students were encouraged to use descriptive color words to name their own dogs!
