About this School Project (Ceramic Pinch Pot)
Kindergartners learned how white pottery clay is different from play doh, modeling clay, or air-dry clay. They learned how to make a ball, and use their thumbs to create the center of their pinch pot. They also practiced shaping the walls of the pot with their fingers and smoothing out the clay. Once the pinch pots came back from the kiln, the kindergartners learned how to apply three coats of glaze to their pieces.
