About this School Project (Grade 5- Animal Sculptures and Implied Movement)
Students viewed a variety of life-size horse sculptures by contemporary American artist Deborah Butterfield. They learned how she constructed her horses and painted the surface of the metal forms. They created their own animal sculptures in clay and had to display implied movement to the form. Once fired they painted the surfaces of the animal and it’s base.
