About this School Project (3-A Romare Bearden Inspired Jazz Musicians)
The artist Romare Bearden (1911-1988) is best known for his richly textured collage art that focused on unity among African Americans. He loved the medium of collage and did an entire jazz musician series. Based on this series, students made a textured painted background and cut and collaged a lively composition of a jazz musician along with their instrument.
