About this School Project (Kindergarten Clay Pinch Pots)
Kindergarteners learn all about clay in their first experience with earthenware clay. They learn that clay is a natural resource that comes from the earth, and that it goes through quite a process from start to finish. They practice the pinch pot method with play-doh first and then use clay to create their final project. We discuss that their pinch pots have to be bone-dry before being fired in the kiln. Once fired, students learned how to successfully glaze their pinch pots!
