About this School Project (Beautiful Blackbird Collage)
As a class we read Beautiful Blackbird by Ashley Bryan and talked about how he used the process of collage to create his illustrations. Then the students cut a circle out of yellow paper and glued it to white paper. They used precut strips of yellow to give the sun rays. The students also glued a precut blackbird and colored strips of their choice of paper to recreate the cover artwork.
