About this School Project (5th Grade Wild Beast Drawings)
Students studied the Fauvist art movement and learned about using arbitrary colors. The Fauves were criticised for their wild use of color and refered to as "wild beasts," or Fauves, in French. The name stuck and the group continued to make artwork with beautiful crazy colors. Students were asked to choose a "wild beast" and create a drawing of it. We learned basic color theory and practiced blending colors using oil pastels
