Artist Statement (what Violet5961 said about their artwork)
I made an optical illusion art. It looks like a tunnel that continues on out of sight. I used yellow and purple crayons and pressed harder on the edges to add shading along with black a crayon. I went through many steps and erasing to create the finished artwork. I chose colors that complemented each other and also I went over the black lines with a marker to make it pop. The shading worked well to create the effect. The beginning was bumpy but I powered through and kept going. What inspired me to create this is the calming effect that art makes me feel. I want people to feel like there is a tunnel that keeps on going. The idea I want to convey is the feeling of happiness because I used bright colors that remind me of summer because, for a lot of people, summer makes them happy. On a scale from 1-10 I would rate this as a 9 I am very proud of this artwork and how the colors came together well.
