About this School Project (Sleigh Bells)
ABOUT SLEIGH BELLS
Sleigh bells are a form of equine ornamentation. They are tacked to the harness of a horse as a way to show off wealth and status. They also served to alert pedestrians that a horse drawn sleigh or wagon was approaching. Bell manufactures cast their emblem or logo into the bells and also varied the sounds of
the bell by the addition of the slits or “throats”.
Project Goals:
Today I will learn about LINE and COMPOSITION, so that I CAN use white TEMPERA paint to paint curved, diagonal, short, and long lines for the BOUGHS, arranging them in a way that creates BALANCE in the space.
Today I will learn about CONTOUR LINE and SHAPE, so that I CAN draw realistic SLEIGH BELLS. I’ll also use CHALK PASTEL to create CONTRAST and VALUE along the sides of the bells.
Today I will learn about actual TEXTURE, so that I CAN add embellishments to my artwork using glitter, ribbons, and sequins.
