About this School Project (Self Portrait)
Students looked at contemporary artists Oscar Joyo , Aurelia Durand, and T-Jay Santa Anna. Each artist uses portrait drawing to express their unique identities through color, placement, and contrast. All students focused on proportion of the face and placement of features that they can draw more realistic portraits. 1st-3rd did a skill builder drawing half their face to try start identifying placement and proportion. 4th and 5th did lots of mini skill builders in their sketchbook and for their Wonderful Original Work of Art (W.O.W) they were asked to incorporation things that show their unique identity and realistic features on at least half the face.
