About this School Project (Amate Bark Painting)
Students learned about the South American art of bark painting. They looked at examples of this folk art and watched a video on how it is physically made. They then sketched out a design for their personal painting. When they were satisfied they drew their designs on the Kraft paper, colored them I’m with acrylic paint pens and then crumpled them up to add texture.
