About this School Project (Oil Pastel Transfer)
Students used oil pastel to create an abstract design.
We began by talking about what it means to be abstract, and how colors and lines can make us feel emotions.
We then placed a solid layer of oil pastel on one side of a piece of paper, choosing colors that display an emotion. This was followed by flipping our colored paper onto a clean piece of paper, and drawing abstract lines on the back side. Again, we focused on creating a design that displayed an emotion. The pressure from the drawing transferred the oil pastel onto the clean sheet.
