About this School Project (African Savannah)
Students used chalk pastels to first create a horizon line, then selected three to four colors to create their sky. Then using two of the sky colors with an addition of green or brown created the ground. Once this step was complete they used a white chalk pastel to draw three to four animals that could be found in the savannah. They could also add a tree and or watering hole.
Once these details were complete students used a small paint brush to paint the animals black to be silhouttes and a palette knife to paint their tree.
