About this School Project (1Bl Painting a Complimentary Color Resist!)
This art lesson combines lots of different learning. The children learned about artists who make their art with ice and snow. They even learned about an artist who first photographed snow! They created their own snowflake using radial symmetry and very heavy coloring. Using crayons heavily is important when creating a crayon resist. Resist means push away, and they learned how crayons which are made of wax pushed away watercolor. They then had an introduction to complementary colors, which are colors opposite each other on the color Wheel. Those opposite colors show a lot of contrast, and really pop with color. The children continue their learning on taking care of their paints, And they loved, loved, loved using complementary colors next to each other. There were many ooh’s and ahhh’s in art class today??. I hope you love these Crayon resist paintings? as much as I do!?
