About this School Project (K Bird Painting)
Students learned a bit about birds, then followed a directed drawing to make a bird picture with black crayon. Students learned about crayon resist - where the crayon resists the paint because of the wax in the crayon. We painted our birds after reviewing the correct way to care for the brushes and paints. The goal was to keep the paints separated from each other by the crayon resist.
