About this School Project (Magical Forest)
For this project, 4th graders studied the art and style of Jess Franks. Franks uses bright, colorful brush strokes to create vibrant nature scenes. We began by mixing a variety of colors together to create painted paper in shades of green as well as in orange and yellows. Students chose a background color and added oil pastel "wind" before cutting out and pasting on their suns and trees.
