Artist Statement (what Brooklyn12305 said about their artwork)
I really like the shadeing. I felt so proud of myself. I would remake the lower part of the body because its a little too big. To creat this artwork for shadeing I did chalk and then I rubed it in and for the sky I did watercolor pencil and then put water on it.
About this School Project (2nd Grade - Snowmen Huddle)
Second grade began their study of how Art Expresses a Point of View through a worm's perspective. In this perspective, since worms are low to the ground, when they look up everything looks very big. Students used this knowledge to draw images of a huddle of snowmen. Students used overlapping lines and shapes to create the illusion that the snowmen are very tall compared to the worm. Next, students had fun decorating each of their snowmen. Chalk pastels were used to create the shading on the edge of each of the snowmen spheres to make them look 3D. Finally, students colored the background with watercolor pencils.
