About this School Project (5th gr A Self-portrait Color Theory Study)
The students used a photographed self-portrait to embark on an extended study of value and color. With the photo as a reference, the students created a collage using complementary colors, followed by a pencil study of analogous colors, and finally a triadic color relationship with pointillist application of paint. The completed series provides an opportunity for students to observe the visual effect and emotional impact of the deliberate color choices.
