Artist Statement (what ALEXANDER33343 said about their artwork)

My favorite part of the project was making the key lime pie on the side and the background. I think that these parts really made the artwork more personal and to make it match with the Halloween-like theme Tim Burton had on his sketches. My least favorite part is probably the ears, I think that everything else looks good but the ears look very strange and not like actual ears.

I put a key lime pie because it is my favorite dessert,and I put an East Side Sweater since I wear that all the time. I added my curly afro because I’ve had an Afro for almost my whole life, so it should be included.

If I did this again, I would change the ears. I think the ears don’t look realistic at all and I would look at my actual ears and try to redraw them to look like that.

I learned how to draw a human face proportion, and how to “break the rules” with a Tim Burton style artwork. I understand how to make a face proportion so that I understand the size and place that different parts of my face go.

I think what surprised me most is that the artwork does look like something Tim Burton would make, with big eyes, long neck, and a small face.

Firstly, what I did was that I made the face proportions but with a Tim Burton style. Next, I added my Key Lime Pie so that this artwork can be more personal to me. I added an East Side Sweater and made a spooky background in the back.
