About this School Project (K: Mondrian Lines to Shapes)
Students learned about artist, Piet Mondrian and his artwork focusing on bold black lines, squares and the primary colors. Students made horizontal and vertical lines by printing with popsicle sticks and black paint. Then they found the closed shapes of rectangles and squares and colored the closed shapes in with the primary colors. Students looked at Mondrian's work for inspiration to create their own interpretation.
