About this School Project (Paper Collage Landscape)
Students studied 4 collage artists (Jesse Treece, Romare Bearden, Henri Matisse and Robin Brooks) and then began creating their own collage. Mrs. Napier helped them create the sky in Robin Brooks' style and the ground in a mixture of Romare Bearden and Henri Matisse's styles.
Then students were given the opportunity to complete the rest of the landscape as they wished because they are the artist. The requirements to completing the landscape was for students to consider Foreground (front), Middle Ground (middle) and Background (back) when designing their artwork. The students were allowed to create any landscape they wished as long as it correctly displayed the use of Space, was a landscape, showed no white of the background paper and their image told a story.
